What are Campus Days?

GIT Campus Days is a time where you can come and experience life as a GIT student! From July 31st-August 4th 2019, prospective Growing In Torah students and their parents can come and experience life on the farm. Some of the opportunities you will have are; morning devotion time with our students, planting and harvesting in the field, learning how to make soap or cook in an earthen oven, and there will even be some fun group activities in addition to a possible field trip! If you are interested in being a GIT student, this is an experience you don’t want to miss!

Attention MWC attendees – If you will be attending MWC we will drive you up to camp on Sunday the 4th.

Registration information

  • Age/Grade requirements as of 07/2019 – 15 years old – up to age 25
  • $180 per student
  • Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their student. The cost is $90 per attending parent
  • If  you are bringing an RV there will be a $10/night fee and there is water and limited electrical hook-ups and a dump station.
  • Last day to cancel and receive a refund will be 6/30/2019
  • Registration closes on 6/30/2019

Check-in is 4 pm on Wednesday July 31st

Thursday 

  • 5am – 6am – Devotions
  • 6am – 8am – Chores/Work*
  • 8am – Breakfast
  • 9am – 12pm – Work/Service projects**
  • 12pm – Lunch
  • 1:15pm – 5:30pm – Hebrew Class, Bible Class, Skill Classes***, Field tour
  • 4:30pm(Thur.) / 5:40pm(Fri.) – Free time
  • 6pm(Thur.) / 7pm(Fri.) – Dinner Evening Activities
  • Curfew

Friday

  • 5am – 6am – Devotions
  • 6am – 8am – Chores
  • 8am – Breakfast
  • 9am – Head out on a field trip (Hiking in Sierra Nevadas)
  • 5pm – Return from field trip and prep for Shabbat
  • 7pm – We will have a fancy Shabbat dinner, followed by praise & worship.
  • Curfew

Shabbat Schedule

  • Sleep in, but food will be available for early risers.
  • 10:30 am – sharing time in the classroom
  • Saturday will include teaching times, Bible study with HRBS and a fun group activity

Sunday Schedule

  • 5am – 6am – Devotions
  • 6am – 8am – Chores/work
  • 8am – Breakfast
  • 9am – GIT Student testimonies
  • 10am – Q & A session
  • 11:30am – pack-up and prep to leave
  • 12pm – lunch

*Chores/Work may include: Harvesting, weeding, planting, seeding, pruning, etc.

**Service Projects may include: Volunteering at a local non-profit farm, assisting local bible study members, etc.

***Skill Classes may include: Making soap, making kombucha, seed saving, cooking in an earthen oven, pottery, viticulture, woodworking, survival skills, etc.

Parent Lodging Options

  • There is RV space with limited hookups
  • There is tent space
  • There is limited  accommodations on campus, (please request when applying)
  • There are local Hotels
  • We will provide students a place to stay, and your are also welcome to stay with parents if they are staying on the farm in an RV or Tent
