What is Growing In Torah?
Growing In Torah is a training program for college-age adults that starts with the beginning of the growing season in March and ends in the fall with the Feast of Tabernacles harvest festival. It takes place on a farm called Safe Haven Sustainable Farms Inc. located in central California. Life on the farm is full of opportunity to volunteer while learning important life skills along the way. It has been said, “If you can be a farmer, you can do anything!”
The Bible was written to an agricultural society, and is filled with important principles and examples of how we should live. Like Yeshua, who used agricultural analogies in the parables, we use this agricultural perspective to teach and train our student volunteers both in the physical and spiritual. As our students volunteer to bless the land and the people of the land around us, they also gain invaluable lessons. As scripture says, “Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over”. That is exactly what our student volunteers are doing, and that is what they can expect in return.
